Terms of Service
Effective date: 05/09/2026
Welcome to Olive. These Terms govern your use of our AI-powered mental wellness support app, our website, and the related features we offer — including support conversations, continuity, care handoff, and provider discovery. Please read them carefully: they explain what Olive is (and isn’t), how you can use it safely, and the limits of what it can do for you.
By creating an account or using Olive, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. Olive is not therapy and not an emergency service. If you or someone else may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or a crisis line right away.
Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, accessing, or using Olive, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.
Eligibility
You must meet the minimum age requirements shown in the app and onboarding flow. If you do not meet those requirements, you may not use Olive except as expressly permitted by law and Olive’s rules.
Accounts and Security
If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials and for activity that occurs through your account. You agree to provide accurate information where required.
What Olive Is and Is Not
Olive is a privacy-first AI mental wellness support app designed to help users process difficult moments, access practical coping support, and connect to trusted human or local resources where appropriate.
Olive is not therapy, not diagnosis, not treatment, and not a replacement for clinicians or emergency services.
Not an Emergency Service
Olive is not monitored as an emergency service and does not guarantee real-time review, crisis intervention, or emergency dispatch. If you or someone else may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or a crisis line immediately.
Crisis and Safety Support
Olive may present crisis resources or suggest immediate human help in high-risk situations. Olive may also use automated and human review processes to assess serious safety concerns. These features are intended to support safety, but they do not guarantee that every harmful situation will be detected or escalated.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use Olive for unlawful, abusive, threatening, or fraudulent purposes;
- attempt to generate or facilitate self-harm, violence, abuse, or illegal conduct;
- bypass or test Olive’s safety controls in unauthorized ways;
- impersonate another person;
- misuse provider/resource discovery tools;
- interfere with Olive’s systems, security, or service availability.
AI Limitations and No Professional Advice
Olive uses AI systems that may generate inaccurate, incomplete, or imperfect outputs. You should use your judgment and seek professional advice where appropriate. Olive does not provide medical, psychiatric, legal, financial, or emergency advice.
User Content
You are responsible for the content you submit and represent that you have the right to submit it and that it does not violate law or the rights of others.
Continuity / Memory
Olive may use prior conversation context, summaries, or continuity settings to make support more coherent over time. You may have controls to manage or clear certain continuity information. Continuity does not make Olive a therapist or clinical record.
Provider / Resource Search
Provider and resource information may come from third-party services or public/partner directories. Olive does not guarantee the availability, suitability, licensing status, or quality of providers or resources unless specifically stated. Search results or listings do not necessarily constitute endorsement.
Care Handoff / Export / Share
Olive may help you prepare notes or handoff summaries that you can edit and choose to export or share. You are responsible for reviewing any content before you export or share it. Once you share content outside Olive, it may no longer be protected by Olive’s systems.
Safety Escalation and Internal Review
If Olive reasonably believes there may be a serious risk of harm to you or others, Olive may conduct internal safety review and, where legally permitted or required, disclose limited information to appropriate responders, authorities, or others as needed to reduce that risk.
Cooperation With Legal Process
Olive may disclose information where required by law, legal process, or lawful authority, or where permitted by law to respond to emergencies, security incidents, fraud, or threats of serious harm.
Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to Olive if you violate these Terms, create safety risks, misuse the service, or where suspension or termination is otherwise necessary to protect Olive, users, or others.
Account Deletion
If you create an Olive account, you may request deletion through the in-app deletion flow and, where provided, through our web deletion request resource. Deletion removes the account and routine associated data except where we are legally required or reasonably justified to retain limited information for safety, security, fraud prevention, compliance, or legal defense.
Intellectual Property
Olive, including its software, design, trademarks, and content, is owned by 16765238 Canada Inc. or its licensors. Except as permitted by law, you may not copy, reverse engineer, or exploit Olive beyond your authorized use.
Disclaimer of Warranties
Olive is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Olive and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and service providers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising out of your use of Olive. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Olive harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of Olive, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of applicable law or third-party rights.
Governing Law / Forum
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and disputes will be resolved in the courts of the Province of Ontario, subject to mandatory rights that cannot be waived by law.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users. Continued use after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance, subject to applicable law.
